Librarians of the blogosphere... we need your help!
The League Of Librarians is recruiting for a summer reading challenge pitting classroom teachers against school librarians. Details are available at the Heise Reads & Recommends blog and it's as simple as reading whatever's on your plate (for me, it will be a whole lot of picture books and graphic novels), then logging your points on a Google Spreadsheet. By joining the ranks of #TeamLibrarian you are helping to secure our positions as Lexile Leaders, Dewey Decimators, Picture Book Powerhouses, Bastions of Books. Need I say more?
Share your info here, then, on June 18th, start recording your points here.
I'm looking forward to all of the great books shared on Twitter via #summerthrowdown, #teamteacher, and #teamlibrarian, plus all of the great new people I'll get to follow.
(...but secretly I'm also hoping to kick a little classroom booty).
The #LeagueOfLibrarians will not lead you astray!
Read on!

We need to not lose this. Lots of cred is riding on dominating this challenge. Must find ways to undermine the competition, teacher or not!
ReplyDeleteI plan on reading as voraciously to my 2 year old as possible. We read books constantly (often over and over). Even though they only count for 1/4 of a point, I'm sure they'll add up quickly. Happy reading!
DeleteSounds like fun, but I don't have a Twitter handle and it's required. Good luck!

Nope. It's definitely not required! They're only using Twitter to share what we're reading and encourage one another. I know the form looks like it's required, but just write "none" in the Twitter field. A Twitter handle IS NOT required on the Google Spreadsheet and the blog states that you don't need it.
DeleteSorry for the confusion if I shared the info in a weird way. Definitely join us!
Yay! Thanks! Perhaps I will encourage the LA teachers in my building to join the other side. Our last day of school is tomorrow.
DeleteDo it! The teacher side is much in need of numbers.
